Though
small in stature, Brother Robert Staton is a gigantic
Kappa Man. Beginning with his history as a founding member
of the New Rochelle - White Plains Alumni Chapter. Bob
has variously served as Polemarch, Keeper of Records
and Exchequer of our Chapter's Noble Clan.
A centerpiece of Brother Staton's life is his Church.
He is an ordained deacon at the First Baptist Church in
Bronxville,
New York and has served as the President of the Board of
Trustees. He served as First Vice President on the Trustee
Board and an usher. His total involvement in his church
is evidenced by his multiple activities at the house of
worship.
Brother Staton crossed the burning sands of Kappa Alpha
Psi at North Carolina Central University, Durham, North
Carolina
and was a member of the student government. Upon graduation
with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration,
Bob pursued a diversified career as social worker, probation
officer and a criminal investigator. He was the first
Black Criminal Investigator hired by the District Attorney's
Office in the County of Westchester. He retired from
that
office
as a Senior Criminal Investigator in January, 1991.
Since his retirement from the district Attorney, Brother
Staton has held part time assignment as a Loss Prevention
Supervisor with Tops Appliance City in Edison, New
Jersey and now is the Supervisor, Contractual Security
at IBM
Headquarters in Armonk, New York. Bob served in the
U. S. Marine Corps
for 5 and 1/2 years.
Because of his many contributions to our chapter Bob
has been awarded both the Kappa of the Year and Community
Service
Award. His special interests and hobbies include
bowling, pistol sharp shooting and reading. Bob is as avid
reader
of the Holy Bible.
Bob and his Wife, Audrey, are blessed with two daughters,
Tracy and Robin.
Brother Staton's envisions a future of total retirement
in order to enjoy a life of ease. We hope that
full attainment of his aspirations can be achieved.
