Lawrence Bailey


Dr. Lawrence Bailey is a Past-President of the New York County Dental Society, the New York State Academy of General Dentistry, and the Midtown Dental Society; he also served as Secretary of the Greater Metropolitan New York Dental Society. Dr. Bailey is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, The American College of Dentists, and The Academy of Dento-Facial Esthetics, and he maintains active membership in a host of other dental professional organizations. Dr. Bailey has an academic appointment at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, and he is a clinical researcher with the New York University College of Dentistry Pearl Research Network.

Dr. Bailey is a trained spokes dentist for the National Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. He has received formal training as a lecturer for the American Dental Association’s comprehensive “Best Management Practice” techniques regarding the safe handling and management of dental amalgam and associated dental office waste.

As one of three New York State Dental Association Govenors, Dr. Bailey represents The New York County Dental Society, and he has served as a delegate at annual sessions of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the National Dental Association. Dr. Bailey is a committee chairman for the Greater New York Dental Meeting.

Dr. Bailey is currently a member of the AGD Dental Care Council and the AGD Foundation Board. He is former member of the AGD Membership Council, and the Constituent and Component Development Council. Dr. Bailey is on the New York State AGD Board of Trustees, the New York County Dental Society Board of Directors, the Hostos Community College Dental Hygiene School Advisory Council and the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine Dean’s Advisory Council.

In his spare time, Dr. Bailey is a mentor for troubled youth, he donates his time for the children of parents afflicted with HIV infections, and he is an active member of the Marble Collegiate Church where he serves on the usher board, and is a videographer for the church’s media ministry.

Lawrence Bailey was initiated into Kappa Alpha Psi’s Eta Chapter (University of Nebraska-Lincoln) in the Spring of 1976. He is a National and Eastern Province Life Member.

Dr. Bailey is employed full time by the City of New York where he balances clinic administration and patient care as the Director of Dentistry and Associate Medical Director at the Renaissance Diagnostic and Treatment Center located in Harlem.
