Edward E. Dickerson, III 

 

 

Brother Ed Dickerson, born on August 30, 1944, entered the Chapter Invisible on September 17, 1999. Brother Dickerson received a Bachelor of Science in Education and Physical Education from West Virginia State College and a Masters in Guidance and Counseling from Lehman College. Brother Dickerson dedicated his life to excellence in education. He was employed with the Peekskill School District as Administrator of Personnel, Assistant Principal, Dean of Students, Director of Summer School and Teacher. Prior to coming to Peekskill, he worked with the New York City Board of Education as Dean of Students in Westchester Hillcrest Children's Center and as principal of the Argus Learning Center. Brother Dickerson was a member of the Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served for over thirty years. He was Chairman of the Board of Trustees and a member of the choir.

Brother Dickerson was initiated into Kappa Alpha Psi at the Tau Chapter on December 8, 1962. Brother Dickerson was a life member as well as a charter Member of the New Rochelle-White Plains Alumni Chapter. Brother Dickerson remained active with the New Rochelle-White Plains Alumni Chapter until his death. Brother Dickerson is survived by his wife of 33 years, Wiley Ann, three sons and daughters-in-law: Brother Edward, IV and Andrea Dickerson, Brother Thomas and Michelle Dickerson, and Brother Todd and April Dickerson; and six beloved grandchildren.
